Welcome to Contemporary Dance & Fitness Studio

Registration is open and class lists are growing. Please don’t wait if you’d like to secure a spot in a class. Questions? Give us a call (802) 299-4676 or send an e-mail: info@cdandfs.comcastbiz.net Our summer hours are unusual, but we will get back to you within a day or two. To register, go to About on the top menu bar, then choose How to Register.

Regarding Covid19: We continue to proceed carefully with regard to COVID. Masks are always optional. Over the summer, we will track local case numbers–along with national and and international information–and modify protocols, if needed. For now, we continue to have good cross-ventilation, and we ask that dancers arrive no more than 15 minutes before class and arrive in dance attire whenever possible. After the opening 2 weeks in September, we ask that dancers come up to the studios without parents/guardians. Young children will be met by teen assistants at the street door and accompanied down to the street when classes are over. We began this practice as a Covid protocol and have chosen to continue, because we observed increased independence and learning curves, particularly in younger dancers.

Who We Are

Contemporary Dance and Fitness Studio was founded in 1973 by owner and director emeritus Lorraine Neal and has been led since 2010 by director Allison Mann.
We offer ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater, hip hop, modern, breaking, and daytime dance workouts and yoga for older adults. Our dancers range from  3 1/2 through adult, beginners through pre-professional. Many of our dancers have gone on to successful professional careers, and many of our faculty grew up in the studio, pursued advanced study, then returned to VT to have a family and teach.
It is our practice to know our dancers and their families.
To this end, we value direct communication, rather than an online registration process. We invite you to explore this website and to call the studio to learn more about CD&FS: (802) 229-4676. We encourage new students and families to visit.

We are a supportive community of dancers and movers, challenging ourselves to learn and grow, inspiring and supporting one another as we learn, respecting everyone’s individual path.
