Welcome to Contemporary Dance & Fitness Studio
Winter/Spring 2023 Registration has begun
We invite you to our Open House/Observation Week, December 12 -17. Family and friends are welcomed into the studios to observe part or all of a class in progress. Please call or email ahead: (802) 299-4676; firstname.lastname@example.org Those interested in taking a class learn about specific availability and we can make suggestions based on interest, experience, and age. Most of our dancers will be continuing from the Fall 2022 session, so new students generally will be diving in mid-stream. This does not preclude enrollment; it means options are more limited than Autumn entry. Some of our kids’ classes have waiting lists. Our Daytime Discounted classes are always open to drop-ins.
Regarding Covid19: We continue to proceed carefully with regard to COVID. Masks have been optional, but we are asking dancers to wear masks for the week following Thanksgiving Break. We continue to track local case numbers–along with national and and international information–and will modify protocols as needed. For now, we continue to have good cross-ventilation, and we ask that dancers arrive no more than 15 minutes before class and arrive in dance attire whenever possible. We ask that dancers come up to the studios without parents/guardians. Young children will be met by teen assistants at the street door and accompanied down to the street when classes are over.
Who We Are
Contemporary Dance and Fitness Studio was founded in 1973 by owner and director emeritus Lorraine Neal and has been led since 2010 by director Allison Mann.
We offer ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater, hip hop, modern, breaking, and daytime dance workouts and yoga for older adults. Our dancers range from 3 1/2 through adult, beginners through pre-professional. Many of our dancers have gone on to successful professional careers, and many of our faculty grew up in the studio, pursued advanced study, then returned to VT to have a family and teach.
It is our practice to know our dancers and their families.
To this end, we value direct communication, rather than an online registration process. We invite you to explore this website and to call the studio to learn more about CD&FS: (802) 229-4676. We encourage new students and families to visit.
We are a supportive community of dancers and movers, challenging ourselves to learn and grow, inspiring and supporting one another as we learn, respecting everyone’s individual path.
